The Lovers

Closing our eyes means suspending the need to control and know in advance, allowing ourselves to perceive the Other through what cannot be seen.

In the arcanum “The Lovers”, consciousness abandons the illusion of isolation to encounter otherness. The work translates this encounter through touch and inward listening: the figures move with their eyes closed over the deep blue of the unconscious, guided by contact.

On the ground, their shadows fall dense and inseparable from their bodies. They remind us that no encounter takes place between whole, finished beings, but between those who also carry what they do not know about themselves.

“The Lovers” thus invites us to love, whether the other or what has been split off within ourselves, relinquishing omnipotence and accepting the vulnerability of not knowing exactly where we are stepping and, even so, continuing towards the encounter.
