This arcanum came to the artist at a moment of great collective expansion, precisely when her project was accepted by this museum. The result of a long process of experimentation and many painted cups before finding the definitive form, the work embodies one of the Hierophant’s central strengths: receiving what has been handed down, adding one’s own experience to it and making knowledge something living, in continuity.
On the canvas, the figure arches the body in a gesture that follows the movement of the sun. Water pours from within the Hierophant himself, revealing the direct overflow of his inherent wisdom, and pearls emerge from its flow, like that which settles out of lived experience and gains value.
Below, the small cups rest empty. The figure pours out what he has received and transformed. Purple hair crowns his presence, like a mark of authority born of experience itself.
Knowledge finds its power when it can circulate.
