The Moon

Year
2025
Medium
acrylic on canvas
Dimensions
72 × 120 cm

The Moon appears when the certainties of sunlight are no longer enough and the psyche turns towards the inner realms of half-light. In the work, the mirror opens as a passage to a space of dreams, mirages and reflections.

The figure in golden tones crosses its surface and finds, on the other side, blue waters occupying the mirror’s interior. There, she plunges into a depth that was not in view, where what remains submerged can finally present itself.

Faced with what exists on the other side, the certainties of the waking world begin to lose their contours. The Moon manifests itself in what cannot be grasped completely: even when one part is revealed, another remains hidden. Between fascination and fear, the figure approaches what seems familiar and, at the same time, profoundly unknown.

What if the other side of the mirror reveals something that also belongs to us, but that we are not yet able to recognise?
