The Wheel of Fortune

2026

acrylic on canvas

72 × 120 cm

Among the twenty-two works, this is one of the few in which the movement of consciousness appears through an object rather than a body. Three cups follow the turning of a single form: the first whole, the second at the moment it breaks and the third reduced to a constellation of coloured stones.

What seemed whole breaks and scatters into countless parts. The cup ceases to exist as a form, but its matter remains in motion, dispersed among the stones, awaiting a new configuration.

The Wheel of Fortune invites us to dance with the circular movement of existence, to lose our footing when it turns, to rise, plummet, let it undo what seemed secure and sweep us along with it. Until, on another turn, what seemed lost begins to come together again, different, but made of the same matter.
